I've moved out of college for good, and I'm on holidays. It feels awesome to have my stuff moved in to my room at home and to know that it can stay there. Moving all my belongings around at the end of each term got old pretty quickly. By the end I was really looking forward to leaving college...it's nice eating at home without heaps of people around. I've finished lectures, and finished exams and all that good stuff. My last day of uni was actually lovely, I got to see lots of awesome people before I went: Kate, Alison, Bec and Sean were hanging out with me at the caf...and then as I was walking back to college, I randomly met Shan, so we hung out at college for a bit too. God is good.
Mostly I enjoy being at home and on holidays. I love having the opportunity to read lots and to get back to my writing (152 pages at the moment and still going). Most of the time I'm happy to stay in my room pursuing particularly nerdy activities. But there's one thing that is annoying. Stiney's boyfriend, Donny, has been living with us for the last few weeks. Its a long story, basically he had to sell his apartment and he's staying with us until he finds somewhere else. I get on with him pretty well, so its not really bad having him around. The only sucky thing is that Stiney and Donny are really cliquey and relationshippy (if that is a word). It's not that fun to go downstairs to watch the Simpsons and find them cuddling on the couch and whispering sweet nothings to eachother. And that doesn't stop when I'm around. I know there are lots of things that I don't understand about relationships and romance and all that crap, but are they surgically attached to eachother? They are around eachother so much, to the exclusion of everyone else. It's worse than around this time last year when I was 3rd wheel with Sean and Fiona...because Sean and Fiona both actually value my friendship. Now, I'm not particularly longing for a boyfriend, but it would be nice to have a friend to hang around with at home, especially when Stine and Donny start whispering to eachother. I have lots of awesome friends but none of them are convenient to hang out with on a spontaneous basis. My friends either all live too far away (that's you guys) or are so tied down by family responsibilities that actually having free time is a rarity (that's my friends from church). So, instead, I read a lot. At the moment, I am fulfilling the role of the screwed up middle child. Heehee, I do it well!
